My name is Cristina Argirò and I live in Turin. I’ve always been passionate about nature and technology, which led me to pursue photography and marketing to promote the territory.
I must admit I don’t have just one big calling, but many great passions, earning me the label of a “multipotentialite“!
I have a very scientific mind; in fact, I earned my first Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. I’ve always found it fascinating to discover the physics behind every corner of the world, especially that which is hidden behind mankind’s dream: to fly.
But what is science without a bit of creativity? While working in a company, I ranked 20th out of over 600 candidates, winning a scholarship to attend a distance learning Master’s Program in Social Media Marketing, another of my great passions! I learned techniques in digital communication, web marketing, and social media management. The master’s program was just the beginning of a broader journey, and since then, I’ve continued to constantly educate myself on these fascinating topics that are shaping our current world.
My life in the corporate world, although it assigns me roles of high responsibility and teaches me valuable skills, is starting to feel increasingly constricting. Despite escaping to the mountains every weekend, for someone who loves nature as much as I do, the need to immerse myself in a world closer to my ideal habitat becomes more apparent. Months of reflection pass, but in the end, I decide to take the plunge and pursue the dream I’ve had since childhood but had put aside: to become an ethologist. I decide to leave my job to devote myself full-time to earning a second Master’s Degree in Evolution of Animal and Human Behavior.
I love traveling to the most remote places on the planet, immersing myself in the wildest nature and contributing to nature conservation. I volunteered in South Africa, in the Limpopo province; I traveled to the rainforest of Madagascar with a research team to study the communication of lemurs more deeply; I visited the jungle of Thailand to learn more about the local fauna.
Although I enjoy traveling to the ends of the earth, there’s no place I’d rather live than my territory: embraced by the mountains and with many natural-cultural gems.
My propensity to become passionate about many fields initially torments and destabilizes me. Today’s society teaches us to believe in the romantic vision of the one true and great vocation (our “destiny,” so to speak) to which we should dedicate all our efforts and our lives. But it’s not so, not for everyone! Having cross-disciplinary skills is a very valuable characteristic in a complex world like today’s. I discover multipotentiality through TED Talks and Emilie Wapnick’s book, both of which open my mind.
Since 2021, after working in the field of territorial marketing, I decide to start my own business and set two main goals: to give voice and value to my clients through photography services and to contribute to the safeguarding of the animal world, using my ethological and scientific skills. In addition to collaborating with the Gran Paradiso National Park, I often travel around the territory to capture events, sports competitions, mountain businesses that invest in their image, and many other diverse realities.
By navigating to the “Collaborations” page, you can get an idea of my Clients’ portfolio and have a taste of the images taken during my photographic services. If you want to take a more general look at my photographs, browse through the shots I’m most fond of!
My “mantra“? Photography for me is emotion: I’m not looking for the perfect photo, but one capable of telling a story and narrating itself outside of time.
In short, this is my story!
